Post University Work- a mishmash of collected
work which has been a great variation of different
projects... all of which full of learning curbs...
This project is very dear to my heart as it was a combined
effort between my dad and myself. A new building in
the process of being constructed at Heritage International
School in Kampala, Uganda- this project is in honor of my
Grandfather: Gerald Stevenson.

The chapel, designed and managed by my dad, unites
a stunning concept of Colonial design with Gothic
church design. I was enlisted to interpret the result
in his head into a format he could share with others.

Pause space after entrance into building

The building includes 2 classrooms, a small duka,
seating for 700+, stage facilities, conference room,
sound room, restroom facilities and dressing rooms-
perfect for weddings, drama clubs, church services
and school functions...
Hallway space with blown glass block panels
The back of the building- integrated the
Gothic Cathedral design with the angled walls.

Bringing in the Ergonomic and spacial standards
and finishing off the building as envisioned in
the budgeted materials, construction methods,
and cost constraints was all a great chance to
learn and grow as a functional designer...
The end result was one that people at the School
are excited about and my father should be extremely
proud of as it is truly inspirational and inventive...
As promised- the Gerald Stevenson updated design
and images- including movie- are now finished and
ready for viewing! I believe it is a vast improvement
from the first presentation of the Chapel and am
excited to see the actual building being constructed.

The last couple months, I have been working on the
Gerald Stevenson Memorial Chapel in greater detail.
One of the little 'break away' projects I have been
working on has been a small glass bottle chapel so
dubbed the Mini Chapel thus far.
It is a very small building that is constructed of steel
frames that will be lined with green glass soda bottles.
The most amazing part of this building is that, so far,
it seems it wont require cement like most of the other
buildings of this kind! It will be a quirky and creative
building which mimics the style of the larger and
bolder Memorial Chapel.
Branding is something I really have started to
enjoy and the last couple months I have been
able to expand my portfolio with several new
projects that require [re]/branding...
------------------
This project was for a beloved NGO which focuses on
the construction and support of the underprivileged
elderly in local areas struggling with poverty. They
needed a new logo and a fresh image representing
what they do for signage and advertising...
Recently, I was able to work with a shop called
Interiors who needed a face lift. The end result
is a bit more modern and relates more to the
current design market but still stays true to the
existing Icon for limited brand confusion...

Blog design. Another branding effort was made to
complement the identity and profession of my
parents who are missionaries in Uganda.

The old blog did not fulfill all the needs required
of the blog and an upgrade was necessary. With
this, a new identity for the site was developed-
suitable for their needs with the brand new look
and updated content and information. The final
outcome- Heart of Our Africa.

Recently I completed a quick-fire project required
by a firm for an application. In 5 days, I was to
complete a hotel room inspired by a butterfly. This
included: Elevations, concept and 3 images that
contributed to their mood board that was provided
(as seen above). This is what I came up with!
